Professor of Near Eastern Studies. Isaac Rabinowitz joined the Cornell faculty in 1957 and retired as Professor of Biblical and Hebrew Studies in 1975. He served as chairman of the Department of Semitic Languages and Literatures, now the Department of Near Eastern Studies, when it was established in 19765.
